at the stick. kron 4's charles clifford has more... on the city's plans to demolish the stadium after the team moves south to its new home in santa clara. candlestick parks sits about 5 and a half miles south of downtown san francisco. the stadium was built in the late fifties as a home for the san francisco giants, the 49ers started using it in 1971. the giants moved out in 2000 and the next nfl season will be candlesticks last. for more than fifty years candlestick park has been home to sports, concerts, and more than a few memorable moments, among the highlights was the 1989 loma prieta earthquake, which shook the stadium on live television during the world series. there was also this pass from joe montana to dwight clark, which was immortalized as the catch that sent the 49ers to superbowl 16. candlestick park is currently run by the san francisco recreation and parks department, but after the 49ers play there last game here next season, developer lennar urban will take over. lennar is the same company that is redeveloping the nearby hunters point shipyard. under an agreement with the city

a deadly shooting that happened just a few hours ago. they tell us a man was shot in the city's western edition. alex savidge is live there now. what can you tell us so far? >> reporter: we are getting very limited information from police this morning. that is because it's so early on in this investigation. a sergeant that was out here confirmed a man was shot and killed. he was found right over near this corner. near the intersection of hayes and webster. an anonymous caller reported gunfire in this area around 2:00 this morning. we'll show you that video. officers were out here for most of the morning. police tell us the victim was rushed to the hospital after suffering at least one gunshot wound. he died there from his injuries. homicide investigators searching for the shooter involved here. a sergeant told me they don't have a description on the person to put out. in just a couple minutes ago i talked to one woman who told me she heard one gunshot and saw this crime scene. >> it sounded like a gunshot and i knew somebody was dead. police know that sound. it's bad. >> reporter: so as

is in midland city, alabama, once again this morning. gio? >> reporter: dan, good morning. this is now day five of this hostage standoff, it's happening just behind that white building that you see there. now, today, we're getting the details about how it all started from the children who were there and saw it all happen. this morning, a photo of the man who police said launched a dramatic hostage standoff. jimmy lee dykes has been holding a 5-year-old named ethan against his will in an underground bunker since tuesday. communicating with negotiators through the pipe. >> i looked up and he's talking about threatening to kill us all or something. >> reporter: it all started when dykes stormed onto this school bus, killed the driver and kidnapped the child. >> he said, i'll kill you all. he said, i just want two kids. >> reporter: they were on that bus. they said that dykes got on and gave the driver what appeared to be a gift of broccoli and a note and then demanded two children. >> the bus driver kept saying, just please get off the bus. he said, no. so, he just tried to back up and he pulled o

indonesia. >> palo alto police are investigating an attempted child kidnapping. in one of that city's quiet neighborhoods. kron four's jeff bush shows you where it happened and who police are looking for palo alto police say it happened about this time of day. it was about 5:30 monday afternoon. an 11 year old girl was riding her bike along emerson streetsouthbound. that's when she says this man was yelling obceneties at her as she approached. that scared her but what scared here even more is when he ran out into the street and tried to grab her. she peddled harder and got away and made it home where she told her parents what had happened to her. take a look at this sketch obtained by kron four. you can see there is a high degree of detail in the sketch. the suspect is described as a white male in his 30's, about 140 to 160 pounds with balding, light color hair and round glasses. palo alto police say they are on the lookout for this man. our kids are our most valuable resource and law enforcement takes things very seriously any time a child is involved, especially and 11 year old girl. many
